Mat has over 10 years experience forecasting in Fortune 500 corporations. Prior to founding Xpree, he was the Director of Corporate Financial Planning at Electronic Arts. A pioneer in the use of prediction markets in the enterprise, he ran a 240 employee prediction market trading 60 stocks representing industry metrics and game quality. Prior to EA, he managed forecasting in Unilever and also smaller high tech start-ups. Mat is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and holds a BS in Management Science from the London School of Economics and an MBA from UC Berkeley.
Alam leads the technical development for Xpree. Prior to founding Xpree, Alam was Manager of Engineering at Yahoo. Alam brings over 10 years of engineering and management experience from Oracle, Liberate and Yahoo. Alam holds a BS in Management Science from the London School of Economics.
Geoff is leading the development of the Xpree trading engine. Prior to Xpree, Geoff was a Senior engineer at Oracle. He has over 6 years of engineering experience with Lam Securities, Siebel and Oracle. At Siebel, Geoff worked on business intelligence and data analytics. At Lam, he developed stock portfolio management software. Geoff holds a BS in Computer Science from UC Berkeley.
The newest addition to the Xpree team, Vahe is a graduate from the University of California at Berkeley, with a BA in Computer Science. He has worked with computers for much of his life and now brings his unique experience and skills to Xpree.
Dr Justin Wolfers is assistant professor of economics in the Business and Public Policy Department at the Wharton School. He is a visiting scholar with the San Francisco Federal Reserve, a Research Fellow with the National Bureau of Economic Research in Cambridge, MA, and a Research Affiliate of the Center for Economic Policy Research in London, and the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) in Bonn. He was previously an Assistant Professor at Stanford's Graduate School of Business, and an economist with the Reserve Bank of Australia. Dr. Wolfers earned his Ph.D. in economics in June 2001 from Harvard University, and was a Fulbright, Knox and Menzies Scholar and a fellow with the MacArthur Network on Inequality and Social Interactions. He earned his undergraduate degree in Economics his native Australia at the University of Sydney in 1994, winning the University Medal. In 2002 he was awarded the Milken Institute prize for distinguished economic research. Professor Wolfers' research fields are in labor economics, macroeconomics, law and economics, and behavioral economics, and he is also a frequent contributor to the public debate.
